The question

Ask anyone in Richardson where they go on a Friday night. The honest answer is usually the same. We drive to Plano. We drive to Dallas. Or we settle for a chain by the highway.

Richardson has plenty of restaurants. What it does not have is a there. A place that feels like ours. The Interurban District is a vision for exactly that, and we are asking the community to help shape it from day one.

The alley with preserved rail tracks
Hiding in plain sight

The best blocks in Richardson are the ones nobody sees.

Right now they are easy to miss. A few tired blocks of old auto shops and empty pavement, sitting in the middle of everything.

But this is where Richardson began, around the 1908 Interurban electric rail. Those tracks are still here, set into the ground of this very alley. The bones of something special are already standing. They are just waiting for a reason to come alive.
